The FAAC 108757 100° Drive Unit is a premium underground hydraulic drive unit designed for FAAC 750 swing gate operators. Rated for an opening of 100°, this drive unit delivers up to 400 lbf-ft (~543 Nm) of torque, allowing smooth, reliable operation for gate leaves up to approximately 13 feet / 4 meters in length (with external locking) or around 8 feet without. It comes in a corrosion-resistant enclosure with stainless steel cover, includes extra oil and all installation accessories. The unit meets stringent protection standards (IP?67), ensuring performance even in demanding outdoor environments. Ideal for residential or light commercial installations where aesthetics, durability, and precise movement are required. Fully compatible with FAAC 750 systems.
Built to FAAC’s quality standards with robust hydraulic design; includes corrosion-resistant enclosure, stainless steel cover, and proper sealing (IP67) for protection against dust, water ingress, and harsh weather.
Includes safety via built-in protection like bypass valves (for anti-crushing protection) and manual release options.
Comes with a 3-year warranty from FAAC (or authorized distributors) against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.
When installing, comply with local building / electrical codes; ensure safety devices (limits, locks, sensors) are correctly fitted to avoid mechanical overload or dangerous failure.
Site preparation: Excavate or prepare the foundation box or pit for the underground drive unit, ensuring correct alignment and stable mounting base.
Mount drive unit: Position the FAAC 108757 jack in the foundation box, secure with the provided base / enclosure elements. Ensure that the stainless steel cover is properly installed to protect from water / debris.
Connect hydraulic components: Connect the drive unit to the pump unit (if separate) via the hydraulic pipes / hoses provided. Fill with the correct FAAC oil as recommended, and bleed air from the system.
Electrical wiring: Connect power supply and control board (FAAC 750 compatible), ensure proper earth/grounding, and safety devices such as external locks, limit switches, etc.
Adjust angle & limits: Set the mechanism to operate to 100° opening (or up to 118° max, depending on configuration), ensuring that travel stops / mechanical stops are in place and do not exceed design limits.
Test operation: Run open/close cycles; verify torque, smooth motion, absence of binding, ensure that the gate leaves reach fully open and closed positions without strain.
Sealing and finishing: Ensure foundation is sealed, cover is flush, protection from elements is ensured.
Maintenance: Periodically check oil level, hydraulic seals, hardware tightness, condition of the cover and enclosure, especially after severe weather.
For heavier or longer gate leaves, always use the external locking option to maintain stability and reduce wear.
Ensure gate design allows clearance for travel up to full opening (gate leaf does not hit posts, fences, or other obstacles at or near 100° opening).
Use properly rated hardware (bolts, hinges) that can handle the torque forces; misalignment or weak hinges will cause premature failure.
Consider installing safety sensors (photocells, safety edges) and ensure the gate system is UL / local-standard compliant.
In climates with extreme conditions (very cold, very wet), check that hydraulic fluid used is suitable, and that the IP67 enclosure is undisturbed.
Keep the stainless steel cover clean and debris free; inspect periodically for water ingress or rust or damage.
