The FAAC E024U Control Board (24V DC) is a modern, versatile control panel for FAAC’s 24V swing gate automation systems. Built for compatibility with several models (S418, S450H, S800H, 390, 415, 770), it provides premium features for both new installations and retrofits.
Some standout features include adjustable speed and force, programmable opening/closing delays and logic, automatic time learning, self-resetting fuses, built-in battery backup, solar power compatibility, and firmware upgrade capability via USB. Versions come either with or without a protective enclosure and backplate, depending on how you need to install it. It meets safety standards (UL325 / UL991) in its compliant versions.
Turn OFF the AC power before working on the control board.
If using enclosure version, mount the board & backplate securely, ensuring proper clearance and wiring space.
Connect AC power (~115 VAC), connect motor outputs, accessory outputs, encoder/limit switches, safety devices (photocells, safety edges etc.), receiver if any.
Hook up battery backup: connect 24V battery (usually two 12V batteries) to the battery connector, activate battery switch.
Set the DIP switches / trimmers to define gate logic (open/close delays, overlapping gates, speed & force).
If using solar charging or external charging devices, ensure correct wiring and disable internal charger if required via jumper J24.
Once wired, test full open/close cycles. Check safety devices operate correctly, gate stops at limits, reverse on contact, etc.
Use quality shielded cables for wiring motors and sensors to reduce interference.
Keep firmware updated as per FAAC releases to ensure fixes and safety enhancements.
Regular maintenance: check battery health (replace as needed), clean enclosure to avoid dust and corrosion.
Ensure environment protection: control board should be mounted in a protected enclosure (weather, moisture, direct exposure) per NEMA ratings.
Use the UL-compliant version when required for building safety codes or commercial installations.
Program safety devices (photo eyes, edges, loops) properly to avoid entrapment; always test safety features.
Ensure the board is compatible with gate weight, length, and travel; adjust speed/force settings accordingly to avoid mechanical stress.
Designed and manufactured to meet or exceed UL325 and UL991 safety standards, ensuring safe operation for swing gate automation.
Built-in battery backup allows continued operation during power failures.
Self-resetting fuses protect internal circuitry and connected components from overloads.
Warranty: typically 1-2 years, depending on retailer/manufacturer terms.
Use only recommended wiring, proper grounding, and follow all local electrical codes; ensure safety devices (photocells, safety edges, etc.) are properly installed and monitored.
